It is a large, relaxed silhouette with a pleated base and built-in organisation, designed to hold daily essentials and more while still looking intentional and polished. Soft in shape but structured in construction, it balances practicality with effortless style.

With two outer slip pockets and an internal zipper pocket, The Hobana keeps your essentials organised without adding unnecessary hardware or complexity.

This bag is spacious enough for real life, (you can easily pack a water bottle and notebook inside as well as your essentials!), but also refined enough for evenings out.

Recommended for intermediate sewists, it is satisfying to construct and rewarding to finish (and comes together quickly!)

Why you will love making The Hobana Bag

The Hobana bag may be large in size but it sews together surprisingly fast. The top gusset construction and inlaid zipper is different to a lot of other patterns out there and the pleats at the bottom help to give this bag structure - meaning that you don't need to include stabiliser if you dont want to!

This is a bag that looks considered and professional without overwhelming you with hardware installs.

Fabric

• Outer fabric:  1m (40”)
• Lining fabric: 1m (40”)

Interfacing and stabiliser

• Non woven interfacing: 1m (40”)
• Woven interfacing: 1m (40”)
• Stabiliser (fusible fleece or fusible foam): 1m (40”)

Zips

• Outside Zipper and pull (or 2 pulls) size #5: 50cm (19 3/4”)
• Inside Zipper and pull size #3 or size #5: 21cm (8 1/4”)

Optional

• Small scraps of Decovil Light,
• small pieces of Duct Tape.
• 1 or 2 x 1cm (3/8”) Magnetic Clasps.

Highly recommended

• Double sided sewing tape
• Size 90 universal needle
• Thread to match or contrast
• Usual sewing tools
